ScreenJourney Terms of Use

By downloading, accessing, or using ScreenJourney, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who provides ScreenJourney

ScreenJourney is provided by ChillPixel (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern your use of the ScreenJourney Android app and its related services.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for access to your device and Google account and for activity performed through your ScreenJourney account. Notify us if you believe your account has been used without permission.

3. Licence

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use ScreenJourney for lawful personal purposes, subject to these Terms and the Google Play terms that apply to your download and purchases.

4. Screen capture and responsible use

ScreenJourney starts activity tracking and screen capture only after user action and the applicable Android permissions or consent. A foreground notification is displayed while capture is active, and capture can be stopped at any time.

You must use ScreenJourney only on a device you own or are authorised to control. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws and obtaining any permission required before capturing another person's information or protected content. You must not use ScreenJourney for surveillance, harassment, unlawful monitoring, infringement, or to bypass Android or third-party security controls.

5. Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in notes, screenshots, and other content you create or process with ScreenJourney. You give us only the limited permission needed to process that content to provide features you choose. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, where it is stored, which service providers are involved, and how to delete it.

6. Cloud AI

Cloud AI is optional. AI-generated titles, summaries, classifications, coaching, and other output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Do not rely on AI output as medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing output before acting on it.

7. Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is optional and requires your authorisation. You are responsible for keeping your recovery key safe. Losing it may make an encrypted backup impossible to restore. Google Drive availability and your Google account are controlled by Google.

8. Purchases, subscriptions, trials, and refunds

ScreenJourney may offer monthly, annual, and lifetime Pro purchases through Google Play. Prices and available offers are shown before purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through Google Play before the end of the current billing period. A free trial, when offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Deleting the app or your ScreenJourney account does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription.

Billing, cancellation, and refund requests are handled under Google Play's applicable policies and local law. A “lifetime” purchase means access for the lifetime of the ScreenJourney service, not the lifetime of a person or device. We may change or discontinue features, but nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

9. Prohibited conduct

You may not misuse the app or services; interfere with their operation or security; attempt unauthorised access; upload malicious material; use the service to violate law or another person's rights; resell the service; or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly allows that activity.

10. Availability and changes

We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise that the app, Cloud AI, backup, or third-party services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may update these Terms and will revise the effective date above. If a material change requires renewed agreement, we will request it where required by law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using ScreenJourney and delete your account at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the service, create risk or legal exposure, or if operation is no longer reasonably possible. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

12. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScreenJourney is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. We are not responsible for loss caused by your failure to maintain device security or safeguard a backup recovery key, or for third-party services outside our control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChillPixel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of ScreenJourney. These exclusions do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Governing rules

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where ChillPixel operates, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Any dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction unless applicable law provides otherwise.
